Greek Dark Wave in its Darkest
Incirrina was formed in late 2017 in Athens by George Katsanos and Irene Tiniakou. Their music is characterized by the use of electronic sounds from mainly analog synthesizers and dark melodies combined with strong rhythmic elements.
Incirrina have performed in numerous gigs and festivals in Europe and Greece. The unique blend of analogue electronic instrumentation, distinct vocal quality, and band chemistry bring powerful live performances, which have been described as:“having a totally amazing sound, with melodies that stick in your mind, combined with heavy, strong beats and vocals, that not only reach the listener but also cut through the musical layers, leaving a lasting impact”.
They have also been honored with an award for their participation in “Syd Sessions Go ADAF” in September 2021 and have composed the music for 2 theatrical performances.
Discography
Incirrina have released the maxi singles “Devastations/R.Daneel” with The Man & His Failures (Smash Records, 2021) and “Utter” (2022).
First LP “8.15” – based on poetry by William Blake (Geheimnis Records, 2019) and “Lip Led Scream” (Cold Transmission, 2022) which received excellent reviews from the press and blogs.
In 29/05/2026 Incirrina have announced the release of their 3rd full lenght album “Trace” by the German Label Cold Transmission.
“Trace“
In this album Incirrina expand their distinctive sonic universe they had established with the previous albums “Lip Led Scream“(2022) and “8.15“(2019) experimenting with instrumentation, rhythm and vocal approach. It includes 11 songs written between 2023-2025 in a 24-channel console, exploring the boundaries of dark electronic, synthwave and coldwave genres.
Thematically the songs deal with the uniqueness of human experience and the struggle of not loosing one’s inner freedom and individuality in dystopian times – the “seeming real” where all that is imposed and inhumane presents itself as the inevitable truth. Celebrating diversity and self expression, but always connecting and creating with other people, is a way out . The album itself is the result of such a process – its creators consider themselves, against the odds, as artisans and friends who make music, share it and reinvent themselves. As its title indicates, “Trace” is the imprint of searching for wondrous, meaningful diversions, novel transformations and transitory acts of care and defiance.
