Introduction
If you enjoy travelling and exploring, taking photos of places or anything that cathes your eye, is almost certain.
It often brings a sense of wonder and discovery, making it almost irresistible to capture moments through photography. The beauty of new landscapes, interesting people, or even little details like textures and colors—all these things spark the urge to document the experience. For many, these photos are a way to relive memories and share unique perspectives with others.
Most people take pictures of beautiful and romantic places or even a nice breakfast or a cat licking its balls! Well I’m more excited about castles and medieval places, old buildings and deserted houses, dead nature, decayed or maybe burned, graveyards and byzantine or older places of worship and so on…
Experimenting with various filters, colours and prespective can add a lot of depth and mood to photos, especially if you’re aiming for a darker aesthetic. It’s amazing how those elements can completely change the feel of an image.
These are a collection of photos i took from various places in Greece, along with a research i did about their history- if its a place or bulidind- so we can all learn their background and historical meaning. Blending photography with historical research adds a rich, educational layer to the visual experience. Greece has such a deep and complex history, and showcasing it through my dark-toned aesthetic must make each place feel both timeless and mysterious.
